中評社香港11月5日電／The background of Seoul Defense Dialogue——Nowadays, the extension of the security issues is being stretched to the comprehensive security issues such as economy, society, and environment.In particular,emerging issues of transnational and non-traditional security threats such as terrorism,WMD proliferation,and large-scale natural disasters have been escalating the significance of multilateral dialogues and cooperation.
Based on such trends,multilateral dialogues are being actively held in various regions including the Asia-Pacific region.
It is,especially,an important task for the world's security and peace to manage unstable security situation on the Korean Peninsula as well as to relieve tension between the two Koreas.In order to solve such tasks,international cooperation is greatly required.
Currently,as a part of international cooperation,multilateral security dialogues are widely being held in the Asia-Pacific region.However,unfortunately,Vice-Ministerial level dialogues to mediate opinions and policies between executive level and the highest ranking level have yet to be present. |
